Louth Lawn Tennis Club Tournament 2025

Singles:

If you wish to participate in the singles competition this year you will need to enter by the 2nd May 2025. Sending an email to lltccomps@gmail.com with your phone number. We will be giving each other your phone numbers this year to organise your match’s.

A draw will then take place as to who plays who.

All matches up until the semifinals are to be played best of two sets with standard 7-point tie breaks. If one set a piece by the end of the two sets a champion’s tie break first to 10 points or clear lead of two (e.g. 11-9, 13-11)

Depending on numbers, dates will be set for when the matches are to be completed by.

Semifinals and finals are best of three sets. Standard tie breaks in sets one and two 7 points. With Champions tie break in the third and final set if required first to 10 clear lead, of two. Balls will be provided for semi finals and finals.

Doubles tournament format for 2025: (You can still turn up for the fun of the Americans format then not take part in the later stages if you wish.)

For the qualifying dates we can now host up to 16 people. The club will ask for an email from yourself before each session to help gauge numbers. Based on the Americans fun format you will pull a number out of the bag.

You will play several times with a different partner each time.

A set is 4 games with everyone serving once in the set.

On deuce point its receivers choice.

The final games score will count as a point. If it finishes (E.G 2-2 you take two points, 3-1 the winners take three and the looser take one)

The number of points is then added up at the end of the session. If you turn up to more than one session it will be added to your other points from those sessions. Then divide by how many sessions you came to. At the end the higher average of points will give us seeding to then organise pairings for last 16 or quarter final matches.

Finals dates are not changeable! They will only be re-arranged for weather purposes.

Quater finals: to be played by the 11th August

Semi finals: to be played by the 8th September

Tennis finals weekend:

Mixed final: Friday 12th September 5pm

Ladies singles: Saturday 13th September 12pm

Men’s singles: Saturday 13th September 2pm or post finish of Ladies singles.

Ladies Doubles: Sunday 14th September 12pm

Men’s doubles: Sunday 14th September 2pm

Followed by presentation and social.
